A Layout Designed for Long-Term Stay

STORM is not merely a technical structure, but a space designed for long-term and practical use.

01

The shelter layout is divided into logically connected areas that separate the entrance, technical and living facilities. The solution includes an entrance area, a technical room and a separate living area designed for everyday life during a stay in the shelter.

02

The living area can include a bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin, a kitchenette, dining and work area, and a space for rest and monitoring. Sleeping is arranged on two levels to make efficient use of the space.

03

The shelter also includes integrated underfloor storage for supplies and equipment.

Security Solution Based on Civil Protection Principles

The shelter is based on the principles of a permanent blast-resistant civil protection shelter and is designed to protect people during emergency situations.

01

The shelter structure takes account of protection against blast-wave effects, radiation and chemical and biological threats. The solution includes pressure-tight and gas-tight penetrations, a positive-pressure mode and a decontamination zone, helping to ensure safe shelter operation during emergencies.

02

The shelter is accessed through a security hatch installed within the reinforced-concrete structure. The hatch offers FB6 ballistic resistance, pressure resistance up to 3 bar and radiation protection. For safe operation, it is fitted with gas struts and a hydraulic lifting mechanism.

03

The entrance is followed by security doors with a vault-type locking system, which separate individual protected zones and help maintain stable positive pressure inside the shelter.

04

The shelter is designed to be switched into protective mode within a few minutes.

TEMET Technology Ensuring Shelter Operation

The shelter’s technical section contains the key systems for safe and long-term operation:

TEMET CBRN air filtration and ventilation

Heat-recovery ventilation unit

NBC water filtration

Diesel generator

Battery storage and voltage inverters

Complete electrical installation and operational control

The shelter is designed to provide the required positive pressure, air and water filtration, and reliable operation of all critical technology even during emergency situations.

Servicing includes checking the functionality of technology, air, water, waste systems, electrical installations, hatches, security doors and selected equipment. This keeps the shelter in excellent condition over the long term and ready for immediate use.
